VACANCY: ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Location: London office (Southbank) and home working

Contract: Full time

Hours: Account Executives start at 8am to carry out daily news monitoring and finish at 4pm.

About the role

The Account Executive plays a critical role in supporting the Seahorse team and clients by keeping abreast of current affairs, policy, and political developments related to Seahorse’s work.

In this role you will carry out daily morning monitoring that is shared with the team and used for client updates. You will also have a key responsibility for helping deliver client work, including through tasks like drafting agenda and actions notes for meetings, producing briefings, and writing press releases. Further, the Account Executive has a valued part to play in Seahorse’s administration and marketing, such as drafting and posting social media content and maintaining databases of key stakeholders.

The role is well suited to a strong communicator, with a passion for delivering meaningful change for the environment during this vital pre-election period and beyond. You’ll have a willingness to learn and ability to show initiative. You should feel comfortable juggling different topics and priorities and have an enthusiasm for research and getting to grips with developments across a variety of issues.

Responsibilities

Half of this role will be focused on monitoring parliamentary news, events and media coverage and reporting findings to the wider team and clients.

The other half will be spent supporting client accounts and Seahorse with research and writing, including social media posts, press releases, briefings, and reports.

Other tasks include:

  1. Contributing to developing new business and creative pitches

  2. Attending events on behalf of clients (where appropriate)

  3. Leading on producing content for Seahorse’s social media (X and LinkedIn)

  4. Helping with general Seahorse administration, such as marketing materials, website content and maintaining contact databases

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

  1. 1-2 years previous working in the communications sector with experience of client delivery

  2. PR and social media experience

  3. Strong passion and enthusiasm for a net zero and nature positive world

  4. Basic understanding of the environmental and decarbonisation landscape

  5. Excellent time management

  6. Strong written and verbal communication

  7. Attention to detail

  8. Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative when needed

Desirable

  1. Experience of working with political, media and environmental stakeholders

  2. Strong understanding of the UK’s political system

  3. Experience working in the environment sector
