Context

The people, places and life we love are at risk from climate change. However, a future where the UK no longer contributes to climate change is within reach.

Our activity

In 2022 and 2023, Seahorse worked with The Climate Coalition and its members, including WWF and the National Trust, to promote Great Big Green Week, the UK’s largest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and nature loss. 

Our impact

Seahorse successfully secured media coverage both to promote the events taking place and to highlight the public calls for Government action to tackle these crises. We secured national, local and broadcast coverage including the Express, BBC Look North and BBC Woman’s Hour with 1.6 million total estimated views for GBGW 2023.

As a result, communities have a time and place to come together to show willing and ready they are to take action to tackle climate change. Over a quarter of a million people got involved in 2022, ultimately putting pressure on the Government to increase its action on climate change.
